Download SafariSort. Open the SafariSort.dmg image and drag the "SafariSort.app" application to your "Applications" folder. Open the Applications folder then open the SafariSort.app.

You don't! SafariSort is a Mac application NOT an iOS application. SafariSort must be run from a Mac system. If you utilize iCloud your bookmarks will be replicated to your iOS devices.

Are you sure you want to delete SafariSort? Remember, as you add more bookmarks you will probably want to run SafariSort again and again in the future.

Open the Applications folder and delete the "SafariSort.app" application.

From any Finder window select "Go" via the Apple Menu Bar. With "Go" selected press the "option" key on your keyboard. A new option "Library" will appear in the Go menu. Select "Library".

From the Library folder locate and open the folder called "Safari". Inside the Safari folder you will see several files. The backup files are named "Bookmarks.plist_xxxxxxxx-xxxxxx" (Example: Bookmarks.plist_20120731-131537).

Delete the file named "Bookmarks.plist".

Rename your latest backup file to "Bookmarks.plist".

Always download SafariSort from this website! You can use the md5 checksum via Terminal to verify the files authenticity.

No worries... Just a delay in the script execution. The application should have still worked without issue.

This error is caused by Apple's Gatekeeper system. Apple wants you to get everything via the App store! I'm not paying Apple to distribute my free software!

Control-click or right click the SafariSort.app icon. Select "Open" from the selection menu.

Click "Open" in the dialog box.

This error is caused by Mountain Lion's new Gatekeeper system. You must choose to allow the SafariSort app to open like previous version of OS X.

Open the System Preferences… > Security & Privacy > General tab under the header "Allow applications downloaded from:" and change it to "Anywhere".

Now you should be able to run SafariSort.

This issue was addressed in version 2.0.2. Please download the latest version (2.0.2).

Are you sure you want to delete SafariSort? Remember, as you add more bookmarks you will probably want to run SafariSort again and again in the future. Your loss; remove the following and SafariSort will be all gone.

Delete the "/Applications/SafariSort" folder.

If for whatever reason you need to restore your bookmarks, simply delete the existing "Bookmarks.plist" file and rename the backup file "Bookmarks.plist.bak" to "Bookmarks.plist". These file are located in your "~/Library/Safari" folder. Keep in mind that any bookmarks added after you last ran SafariSort will not be include in your backup file.

You may also achieve the above by copying and pasting the complete line below into a Terminal window.

rm ~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist; mv ~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist.bak ~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist; chmod 660 ~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist
